Pan-Roasted Broccoli from The Wednesday Chef, where it was taken from this book, which discusses Heston Blumenthal’s method for cooking broccoli
Wash a head of broccoli (it doesn’t actually matter how much, just however much you have on hand). Cut off the florets (the bushy part on top) so they’re all about the same size. Peel the stalks (you can skip the peeling if you want) and slice them...

Recycled magazine coasters
http://howaboutorange.blogspot.com/2009/06/recycled-magazine-coasters.html
My latest after-dinner-while-watching-TV project: woven coasters made from magazine pages. To make a coaster like the green one above: 1. Tear out 6 magazine pages. Cut off the ragged edge on each, then cut each page in half lengthwise. I stacked them and cut them all at once with an X-acto knife and ruler. (To make a...

Lively Up Yourself Lentil Soup Recipe
I’ve found that French green lentils and black beluga lentils hold their shape nicely - they don’t go to mush in the pot. I sometimes used fire-roasted organic crushed tomatoes, they lend a lovely deep smoky flavor to whatever you use them in. If you come across them, give them a try in this soup. If not, regular crushed tomatoes are just fine....

Faces of Evil
“Spending countless hours in front of Photoshop, Weishäupl painstakingly stitches together anonymous faces of people from the countries where the dictators once ruled. After much attention to every feature, hair, wrinkle and pore, the faces eventually morph into portraits of Mugabe, Pinochet, Hitler, Mao and more.”
